He married Elizabeth Tilley 14 Aug 1623 in Plymouth, MA. Elizabeth was born August 1607 Henlow, England. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Tilley and Joan Hurst. Elizabeth died 21 Feb 1687/8 Swansea, MA, at age 80. Her body was interred Riverside, RI. She was baptized 30 Aug 1607 Henlow, England. When Elizabeth was age 17 and John Howland was age 33 they became the parents of Desire Howland 1625 in Plymouth, MA. When Elizabeth was age 19 and John Howland was age 34 they became the parents of John Howland 24 Feb 1626/1627 in Plymouth, MA. When Elizabeth was age 22 and John Howland was age 37 they became the parents of Hope Howland August 30, 1629 in Plymouth, MA. When John was age 38 and Hope Howland was age 23 they became the parents of Hope Chipman August 31, 1652 in Barnstable, MA. When John was age 40 and Hope Howland was age 25 they became the parents of Lydia Chipman December 25, 1654. When John was age 42 and Hope Howland was age 27 they became the parents of John Chipman March 2, 1656/7. When John was age 44 and Hope Howland was age 29 they became the parents of Hannah Chipman January 14, 1658/9. When John was age 46 and Hope Howland was age 31 they became the parents of Samuel Chipman April 15, 1661. When John was age 48 and Hope Howland was age 33 they became the parents of Ruth Chipman December 31, 1662. When John was age 52 and Hope Howland was age 36 they became the parents of Bethiah Chipman July 1, 1666. When John was age 53 and Hope Howland was age 38 they became the parents of Mercy Chipman February 6, 1667/8. When John was age 56 and Hope Howland was age 41 they became the parents of John Chipman March 3, 1670/1. When Hope was age 27 and John Chipman was age 42 they became the parents of John Chipman March 2, 1656/7. 6 iv. Elizabeth Howland was born possibly in Maine c1631. Elizabeth died 1691 Oyster Bay, NY, at age 60. She married twice. She married Ephriam Hicks 13 September 1649 in Plymouth, MA. She married John Dickenson 10 July 1651 in Plymouth, MA.

7 v. Lydia Howland was born possibly in Maine c1633. Lydia died aft. 11 January 1710/1711 at age 77. She married James Brown c1654. James was born date unknown. James died October 29, 1710 at age unknown.

8 vi. Hannah Howland was born possibly in Maine c1637. She married Jonathon Bosworth prob. 6 July 1661. Jonathon was born date unknown.

9 vii. Joseph Howland was born Kingston, MA c1640. Joseph died January 1703/1704 in Plymouth, MA, at age 63. He married Elizabeth Southworth December 7, 1664 in Plymouth, MA. Elizabeth was born date unknown.

10 viii. Jabez Howland was born Kingston, MA c1644. Jabez died 1710 at age 66. He married Bethiah Thacher c1668. Bethiah was born date unknown. Bethiah died December 19, 1725 at age unknown.

11 ix. Ruth Howland was born Kingston, MA c1646. Ruth died bet. 1672 and 16 October 1679 at age 26. She married Thomas Cushman November 17, 1664 in Plymouth, MA. Thomas was born September 16, 1637. Thomas died August 23, 1726 at age 88.

12 x. Isaac Howland was born Kingston, MA November 15, 1649. Isaac died March 9, 1723/4 in Middleboro, MA, at age 74. He married Elizabeth Vaughn circa 1676 probably in Marshfield, MA. Elizabeth was born 1652. Elizabeth died October 29, 1727 at age 75.
