1. John¹ Chipman was born 1614. John died April 7, 1708 at age 93.

He married Hope Howland 1646. Hope was born August 30, 1629 in Plymouth, MA. Hope was the daughter of John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley. Hope died January 8, 1682/3 at age 53. When Hope was age 17 and John Chipman was age 32 they became the parents of Elizabeth Chipman June 24, 1647. When Hope was age 23 and John Chipman was age 38 they became the parents of Hope Chipman August 31, 1652 in Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 25 and John Chipman was age 40 they became the parents of Lydia Chipman December 25, 1654. When Hope was age 27 and John Chipman was age 42 they became the parents of John Chipman March 2, 1656/7. When Hope was age 29 and John Chipman was age 44 they became the parents of Hannah Chipman January 14, 1658/9. When Hope was age 31 and John Chipman was age 46 they became the parents of Samuel Chipman April 15, 1661. When Hope was age 33 and John Chipman was age 48 they became the parents of Ruth Chipman December 31, 1662. When Hope was age 36 and John Chipman was age 52 they became the parents of Bethiah Chipman July 1, 1666. When Hope was age 38 and John Chipman was age 53 they became the parents of Mercy Chipman February 6, 1667/8. When Hope was age 41 and John Chipman was age 56 they became the parents of John Chipman March 3, 1670/1. When Hope was age 43 and John Chipman was age 58 they became the parents of Desire Chipman February 26, 1673.

When John was age 32 and Hope Howland was age 17 they became the parents of Elizabeth Chipman June 24, 1647. When John was age 38 and Hope Howland was age 23 they became the parents of Hope Chipman August 31, 1652 in Barnstable, MA. When John was age 40 and Hope Howland was age 25 they became the parents of Lydia Chipman December 25, 1654. When John was age 42 and Hope Howland was age 27 they became the parents of John Chipman March 2, 1656/7. When John was age 44 and Hope Howland was age 29 they became the parents of Hannah Chipman January 14, 1658/9. When John was age 46 and Hope Howland was age 31 they became the parents of Samuel Chipman April 15, 1661. When John was age 48 and Hope Howland was age 33 they became the parents of Ruth Chipman December 31, 1662. When John was age 52 and Hope Howland was age 36 they became the parents of Bethiah Chipman July 1, 1666. When John was age 53 and Hope Howland was age 38 they became the parents of Mercy Chipman February 6, 1667/8. When John was age 56 and Hope Howland was age 41 they became the parents of John Chipman March 3, 1670/1. When John was age 58 and Hope Howland was age 43 they became the parents of Desire Chipman February 26, 1673.

3 ii. Hope Chipman was born in Barnstable, MA August 31, 1652. Hope died July 26, 1728 in Middleboro, MA, at age 75. She married twice. She married John Huckins date unknown. John was born August 2, 1649 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. John died November 10, 1678 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA, at age 29. When John was age 22 and Hope Chipman was age 19 they became the parents of Elizabeth Huckins October 1, 1671 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When John was age 23 and Hope Chipman was age 20 they became the parents of Mary Huckins April 3, 1673 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When John was age 25 and Hope Chipman was age 22 they became the parents of Experience Huckins June 4, 1675 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When John was age 27 and Hope Chipman was age 24 they became the parents of Hope Huckins May 10, 1677 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. (See John Huckins for the continuation of this line.) She married Johnathon Cobb March 1, 1681/2 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. Johnathon was born April 10, 1650 in Barnstable, MA. Johnathon was the son of Henry Cobb and Sarah Hinckley. Johnathon died August 5, 1728 in Middleboro, MA, at age 78. When Johnathon was age 32 and Hope Chipman was age 30 they became the parents of Samuel Cobb February 23, 1683 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Johnathon was age 36 and Hope Chipman was age 33 they became the parents of Johnathon Cobb 1686 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 19 and John Huckins was age 22 they became the parents of Elizabeth Huckins October 1, 1671 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 20 and John Huckins was age 23 they became the parents of Mary Huckins April 3, 1673 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 22 and John Huckins was age 25 they became the parents of Experience Huckins June 4, 1675 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 24 and John Huckins was age 27 they became the parents of Hope Huckins May 10, 1677 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 30 and Johnathon Cobb was age 32 they became the parents of Samuel Cobb February 23, 1683 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 33 and Johnathon Cobb was age 36 they became the parents of Johnathon Cobb 1686 in Barnstable, Barnstable, MA. When Hope was age 35 and Johnathon Cobb was age 38 they became the parents of Ebenezer Cobb April 10, 1688.

6 v. Hannah Chipman was born January 14, 1658/9. She married Thomas Huckins date unknown. Thomas was born April 25, 1651.

8 vii. Ruth Chipman was born December 31, 1662. She married Eleazer Crocker date unknown. Eleazer was born date unknown.

9 viii. Bethiah Chipman was born July 1, 1666. She married Shubael Dimock date unknown. Shubael was born date unknown.

10 ix. Mercy Chipman was born February 6, 1667/8. She married Nathan Skiff date unknown. Nathan was born March 15, 1638. Nathan died February 12, 1725/6 in Chilmark, MA, at age 87.

11 x. John Chipman was born March 3, 1670/1. John died February 21, 1747 at age 75. He married three times. He married Mary Skiff 1691. Mary was born November 13, 1671. Mary was the daughter of Stephen Skiff and Lydia Snow. Mary died March 12, 1711 at age 39. He married Elizabeth Handley 1716. Elizabeth was born 1680. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Handley. Elizabeth died January 29, 1725 in Dartmouth, MA, at age 44. He married Hannah Hockey 1725. Hannah was born date unknown.

12 xi. Desire Chipman was born February 26, 1673. She married Melatiah Bourne date unknown. Melatiah was born January 12, 1673. Melatiah died November 24, 1742 at age 69.
