He married Sarah Elisabeth Grubb August 2, 1881. Sarah was born October 17, 1856 in Lima, OH. Sarah was the daughter of Moses Grubb and Sarah Ann Lonas. Sarah died 1923 at age 66. Her body was interred 1923 in Toledo, OH, Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. When Sarah was age 26 and Max Lowenthal was age 25 they became the parents of Bertha Lowenthal November 6, 1882 in Paulding, OH. When Sarah was age 28 and Max Lowenthal was age 28 they became the parents of Harry Lowenthal September 7, 1885 in Paulding, OH.

When Max was age 25 and Sarah Elisabeth Grubb was age 26 they became the parents of Bertha Lowenthal November 6, 1882 in Paulding, OH. When Max was age 28 and Sarah Elisabeth Grubb was age 28 they became the parents of Harry Lowenthal September 7, 1885 in Paulding, OH.

Max Lowenthal and Sarah Elisabeth Grubb had the following children:

3 i. Bertha³ Lowenthal was born in Paulding, OH November 6, 1882. Bertha died May 11, 1964 in Toledo, Lucas County, OH, at age 81. Her body was interred 1964 in Toledo, OH, Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
