He married Martha Tabb January 13, 1780. Martha was born October 21, 1757. Martha was the daughter of Edward Tabb and Lucy Todd. Martha died September 16, 1821 at age 63.

When Armistead was age 27 and an unknown person was age unknown they became the parents of Lucy Armistead Smith 1783.

2 i. Lucy Armistead² Smith was born 1783. Lucy died November 14, 1821 at age 38. She married Thomas Todd Tabb date unknown. Thomas was born December 4, 1782. Thomas was the son of Philip Tabb and Mary Mason Booth. Thomas died June 20, 1835 at age 52. When Thomas was age 21 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 21 they became the parents of Philip Armistead Tabb October 7, 1804. When Thomas was age 24 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 24 they became the parents of John Henry Tabb September 15, 1807. When Thomas was age 27 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 26 they became the parents of George Edward Tabb January 3, 1810. When Thomas was age 30 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 30 they became the parents of Maria Mason Tabb September 30, 1813. When Thomas was age 32 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 31 they became the parents of Philip Tabb May 18, 1815. When Thomas was age 35 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 35 they became the parents of Martha Tabb September 21, 1818. When Thomas was age 37 and Lucy Armistead Smith was age 36 they became the parents of Pauline Tabb February 9, 1820.
