5. James Smith⁵ Bush (Obadiah Newcomb⁴, Timothy³, Timothy², Richard¹) was born in Rochester, NY June 15, 1825. James died November 11, 1889 in Ithaca, NY, at age 64.

He married Harriet Eleanor Fay February 24, 1859 in New York, Manhattan, NY. Harriet was born October 29, 1829 in Savannah, GA. Harriet was the daughter of Samuel Howard Fay and Susan Shellman. Harriet died February 27, 1924 in Boston, Suffolk County, MA, at age 94. When Harriet was age 33 and James Smith Bush was age 38 they became the parents of Samuel Prescott Bush October 4, 1863 in Brick Church, NJ.

When James was age 38 and Harriet Eleanor Fay was age 33 they became the parents of Samuel Prescott Bush October 4, 1863 in Brick Church, NJ.
