Newton Baxter had the following child:

2 i. Etta Bell² Baxter was born before circa 1885, the first event for which there is a recorded date. She married Hiram Corinth "Rent" Hughes circa 1885 in Gibson County, IN. Hiram was born May 15, 1865 in Indiana. Hiram was the son of Hiram Hughes and Martha Melvina English. Hiram died 1933 in Indianapolis, IN, at age 68. His body was interred in Pike County, IN, Williams Cemetery. When Hiram was age 20 and Etta Bell Baxter was age unknown they became the parents of Laura Bell Hughes 1885. Hiram was divorced from Etta Bell Baxter 1888. (See Hiram Corinth "Rent" Hughes for the continuation of this line.)

When Etta was age unknown and Hiram Corinth "Rent" Hughes was age 20 they became the parents of Laura Bell Hughes 1885. Etta was divorced from Hiram Corinth "Rent" Hughes 1888.
